Central Iowa Regional Housing Authority

The City of Monroe is a member of the Central Iowa Regional Housing Authority. As a member government, a representative and alternate are appointed by the Mayor and Council to serve a three-year term on the Board of Commissioners.  Please contact City Hall if you are interested in serving our community.  Representatives must attend the regular monthly meetings in person or via Zoom.  Meetings are typically held in Grimes, Iowa. 

Mission statement: Central Iowa Regional Housing Authority aims to promote affordable, decent, safe and sanitary housing by assisting qualified families in a non-discriminatory manner, encouraging self-sufficiency and individual responsibility, while maintaining the public trust.

The region CIRHA covers includes the counties of Boone, Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Marion and Story County.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR THE ACQUISITION AND DEVELOPMENT OF REAL ESTATE LOCATED AT 702 N. MAIN STREET. PARCEL #1830304004 AND LEGALLY DESCRIBED AS:  LOTS 7 & 8 BLOCK 60 ORIGINAL PLAT, MONROE, IOWA.

            The City of Monroe is requesting proposals from developers who wish to acquire the real estate described above for new construction of multi-residential housing.  Property is sold as-is.  Proposals should include information on developer’s experience in construction and development.  Information regarding the proposed use of the acquired property should also be included, along with the amount the developer is willing to pay for the lot. (must be at least $7,500.00) and schedule for completion. Property will be subject to development agreement and minimum assessment agreement.  Project to be completed within 18 months and to have minimum assessment value of $75,000.00.  Proposals must be submitted to City Hall on or before January 9, 2023 at 4:00 P.M.  The City may choose to reject any and all proposals.  Buyer to receive Warranty Deed and abstract showing marketable title.  Usual Buyer and Seller expenses.  Buyer must build and maintain property according to Monroe City Code Standards.

                The City of Monroe is requesting proposals from developers who wish to acquire the real estate described above for new construction or rehabilitation of commercial property.  Property is sold as-is.  Proposals should include information on developer’s experience in construction and development.  Information regarding the proposed use of the acquired property should also be included, along with the amount the developer is willing to pay for the lot (must be at least $20,000.00) and schedule for completion.  Proposals must be submitted to City Hall on or before January 9, 2023 at 4:00 P.M.  Property will be subject to development agreement and minimum assessment agreement.  Project to be completed within 18 months and to have a minimum assessment value of $75,000.00. The City may choose to reject any all proposals.  Buyer to receive Warranty Deed and abstract showing marketable title.  Usual Buyer and Seller expenses.  Buyer must rehabilitate and maintain property according to Monroe City Code standards.
