Monroe Cemetery Flower Removal
The public is reminded that all flowers and other items on the ground must be removed from the cemetery by April 15, 2020. Flowers in vases or on the stones are always welcome and are not removed by the City. No permanent plantings are permitted. If you plant annual flowers, they may be mowed off or you can keep the grass trimmed at least 6” away from the stone. Please do not leave glass vases or jars at the grave sites. Questions should be referred to City Hall at 259-2319. Thank you for your cooperation.
The City of Monroe is now accepting applications for seasonal employees for the Public Works Department. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older to be considered. Duties will include mowing and trimming of city owned property and other tasks as assigned. 20 to 25 hours per week, May through September. Applications may be picked up at City Hall, 206 W. Sherman Street or downloaded from our website www.MonroeIA.com. Application deadline is 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2021. Any questions please call City Hall at 641-259-3490.
