Central Iowa Underwater Search and Recovery Volunteers Meeting

The Monroe Police Department along with other agencies are joining the CIUSR to bring another service to the citizens of Monroe along with other cities and counties. This is a volunteer service and would require some expense on your part. With the several bodies of water near Monroe and the surrounding area we believe this would be a good asset to have available if needed. We have setup a zoom meeting to provide all the information to anyone who is interested in joining. Below is the zoom meeting link scheduled for Thursday the 19th at 6:30pm. Any questions please feel to reach out to the Monroe Police Department.

This meeting of the Monroe City Council will held electronically.  Chapter 21.8 of the Iowa Code does permit an electronic meeting where all members participate remotely when an in-person meeting is impossible or impractical, which is certainly true during this crisis.  On March 19, 2020, Governor Reynolds issued a Proclamation of Disaster Emergency which included a suspension of Iowa laws that would prevent the use of electronic meetings or the limitation on the number of people present at an in-person meeting site.  Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the City of Monroe will be holding this city council meeting electronically via ZOOM. If you would like to participate, please contact Kim Thomas at 259-2319 prior to 4:30 p.m. on November 9, 2020.
